In today’s post, I will be highlighting some keys to cultivating a champion’s mindset. Know this. You can go as slow as you need to go, but you cannot stop. You can never give up or drop out of giving your best in life. People who are truly great never drop out. They keep on going even when the going gets tough.
You cannot avoid, ignore or deny adversity. It happens to the best of us too. Be aware of which adversities you are facing and accept the adversity for what it is. Avoid it or resist it and it will only persist. Recognize the challenges you’re facing and accept them for what they are. The more you resist reality, the longer it tends to hold you back. Acceptance isn’t surrender—it’s the first step toward moving through it with wisdom, resilience, and strength.
No one has ever achieved anything truly great without going through extreme adversity. You’ve got to believe in yourself one more time. As Lewis Howes says in his best-selling book, The School of Greatness, belief in yourself has to be a weapon in your arsenal whose power you respect and revere; it can’t be used like impenetrable armor that creates a sense of invincibility or superiority.
You’ve got to remember that greatness is not something that is delivered to you or you are delivered to. It is something you have to work on daily. It takes years of dedication, discipline, and drive that persist in spite of any and all of the constant changes that occur with your business, relationships, health and the world around you. If you commit to the process of developing this mindset for yourself, you will blow past every limit you thought was unbreakable.

To cultivate a champion’s mindset, you must become confident in who you are and choose to believe in yourself—again and again. Champions aren’t fearless. They face doubt, pressure, and uncertainty just like everyone else. The difference is that when fear shows up, they fall back on their belief in themselves and the work they’ve put in. Confidence just isn’t built by never being afraid. It’s built by trusting that your preparation is greater than your fear.
I want you to realize this. You have always been great. You’ve got unique characteristics, and you will never happen again in the history of the universe. You have the choice. You can think average and get average results or think like a champion and reap outstanding results. It actually takes only a little more effort to believe in yourself than it does to put yourself down. Make the decision to spend your energy in improving your mindset and doing things that give you confidence rather than bring you down to the lowest levels.
Always come back to understanding how unique and powerful your gifts are in this world. Before anyone else can, you need to understand this. Your gifts were given to you for a reason. Own them, develop them, and never underestimate the impact they can have on this world.
Go out today, friend, and make your life an adventure. Have a truly outstanding day!
Here’s to the greatness within you.
