In today’s post, I’ll be discussing adversity as the key to greatness. We are only as good and as strong as our adversity makes us. On the journey to greatness, you sometimes have to fall before you can truly rise. We are only as strong as the adversity we overcome.
You’re capable of greatness no matter what you’ve been through. Your past makes you who you are and your adversity has the potential to become your greatest advantage.
There’s no room in our lives for excuses, especially if greatness is our goal. Greatness is what happens when your talent and your vision face adversity, and you persist in the face of it to learn the language of the new, the scary, and the unfamiliar.
If you want to be great, you have to work harder and smarter. When something knocks you down — when someone says no — you have to be able to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and do it all over again.
No matter what you’ve been through, you are capable of greatness. Your past has shaped you, but it does not define your future. In many cases, the very adversity you wish you could erase becomes your greatest advantage. Your struggles build resilience, your setbacks develop character, and your challenges prepare you for opportunities that comfort never could.
There is no room for excuses when greatness is the goal. Greatness is born when your talent and your vision collide with adversity—and you choose to persist anyway. It’s found in your willingness to embrace the unfamiliar, face your fears, and keep moving forward despite uncertainty.
There are levels that you can’t reach without going through a dry season, without opposition, things that are unfair. That’s all leading you to bloom, to greatness, to promotion, to influence.
Adversity is not the opposite of success; it is often the foundation of it. The strongest leaders, the most impactful entrepreneurs, and the greatest champions all have one thing in common: they refused to let adversity have the final word.
As C.S. Lewis wisely said, “Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.”
While you’re pursuing your dreams, never lose sight of serving others. Strive to make a positive impact on your family, your community, and the world around you. You don’t have to wait until you’ve “made it” to be a blessing. In fact, a life of service often becomes the very path that leads to lasting success and significance.
You get out of life what you put into it. Pursue it with everything you’ve got.
